Let’s start with one of the most important questions. Who is trying to take your money? The answer for the most part is everyone, period, full stop…
Prove it?! For those of us who live in a capitalistic society, like the United States, much of what is seen and what is done is owned and put into action buy companies. Everything we do is somehow tied to money. Let us start with a few simple questions and answer these questions to yourself. Are you wearing clothes like socks, pants, or a T-shirt? Did you eat today? Did you drink today? How are you reading this text now? Is it on your computer or your phone? Did you go the bathroom today? Were you inside at any point today? For the most part your answers should have been yes across the board, but there is a chance you said no. There is a larger chance you said no, although reality would say yes. Why am I asking these questions? If you asked that, that is good. Questions show that you are thinking.
Are you wearing clothes?
Where did the clothes come from? A store, secondhand shop, a gift, found it on the ground? It does not really matter… those clothes are not free; someone had to pay or sacrifice something to get those clothes. By definition they are tied to money.
Did you eat today?
You likely paid for the food that you ate today or someone you love. If not, and you got them for free, that is also not true they most likely were pre-paid. Meaning if you got free food at school (taxpayers paid), at work (employer or coworker), at college (taxpayer), or at a soup kitchen (donations or government subsidies). The truth is being so focused on money is not healthy and worth a persons time, however, we live in a society that has made citizens money blind. They are unable to see the obvious things, they are unable to say why these things are, and fundamentally all the human systems around us a fundamentally moved by money.
Let’s go into the statement “Everyone is trying to take your money,” what do we mean by that? Simple, go out side and walk around, you may see cars going down the road, you may see a mailman, a homeless person, a bus, a shopping center, an elementary school… the truth is they are all trying to get your money. The mailman is not going to walk up to you and ask you for money, but if he or she does not get paid they will stop because no worker works for high fives and attaboys. They work to get paid. The elementary school that you do not have children or even children for that matter needs a new gym. So what do they do, they look to whose funding them (property tax payers) and increase the local areas property tax or they wait for more people to buy real-estate in that area. Let’s say you rent in this area, and have no kids, the property tax the landlord is paying is figured into your rent. Guess what? You are paying and everyone wants your money.
